Cadet college to be established in Frontier Region Bannu

ISLAMABAD: In what appears to be a welcomed move, the government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) is all set to establish a Cadet College in Frontier Region Bannu area with the total cost of Rs6 million.

The scheme has been approved in the meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held on November 30, 2017, in Peshawar in which it was decided that a Cadet College would be established in Frontier Region Bannu.

KPK Elementary and Secondary Education Department secretary in a letter to the KPK Communication and Works Department secretary writes, “In exercise of powers delegated with S.NO.6 Part-II of the delegation of powers under the financial rules and powers of re-appropriation rules 2011, the government of KPK is pleased to accord administrative approval to the ADP No. 366-170647 feasibility study and establishment of Cadet College at Bannu at the cost of Rs6 million as per the following breakup.”

The letter, a copy of which is available with Pakistan Today, reads, “Expenditure involved for building is chargeable to functional cum object classification 04-Economic Affairs- 045- construction and transport-045702-building and structures-AO3970-ADP No-ADP No. 366-170647 feasibility study and establishment of Cadet College at Bannu NC No. 12061 under demand No.49 Education and Training, Demands for Grants Developmental Expenditure for 2017-18.”

“Expenditure involved for the purchase of furniture/equipment debatable to functional cum object classification 09-education affairs and services-091-Primary Education Affairs and services-092102-Primary education-A03970-ADP No 366-170647 feasibility study and establishment of Cadet College at Bannu-PC-II NC No. 22061 under demand No. 49 Education and Training, Demand for Grants Developmental Expenditure for 2017-18,” the letter reads.

The Education Department secretary wrote that the scheme has been approved in the meeting of PDWP on November 30, 2017, subject to the conditions that the Terms of Reference (TOR)’s of the consultancy should be restricted only to the feasibility and detail drawings/design of the purposed infrastructure in accordance with the requirements.

It is said that the Request for Proposals (RFP) for engagement of consulting would be invited after possession/acquisition of land.
