No country has rendered sacrifices like Pakistan in war on terror: Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb, on Friday, said that Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror stand alone and are unmatchable by any other country.

She said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a mosque and a free pharmacy inside the premises of Pakistan Sweet Homes in Islamabad.

The minister paid tribute to the armed forces and law enforcing agencies for the sacrifices rendered by them and said that, “By the steps taken in line with the vision of the former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the unrivaled sacrifices offered by the armed forces, law enforcing agencies and the people of Pakistan, the scourge of terrorism has been checked in its tracks.”

While speaking of the facilities provided by Sweet Homes to orphaned children Auragnzeb observed that, Sweet Homes has excellent arrangements for the orphaned children and is striving to fulfil the dream of their deceased parents.

The minister obtained lifetime membership of the Sweet Homes and announced to activate membership campaign for the institution through Radio, TV and Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

She hoped that the awareness campaign will also help in collecting donations for the organisation and urged the leaders of the political parties, members of the parliament, philanthropists and people from all segments of the society to visit Sweet Home and contribute their bit to the cause.

She announced to accord membership of arts clubs set up by Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Folk Heritage to the children of the Sweet Home and extended the assurance that special programmes will be arranged for them once a year.

Aurangzeb said that the children of Sweet Homes will also be given the opportunity to participate in the Naat Competitions of Radio Pakistan and other programmes.

Aurangzeb visited different departments of the Sweet Homes and also inaugurated the newly constructed mosque and the Begum Rasheeda Free Pharmacy on its premises.

She also cut the birthday cake of Quaid-i-Azam.

The patron of the Sweet Homes Zamurrad Khan speaking on the occasion revealed that the project was initiated with one child and presently there were hundreds of them in Sweet Homes across the country.

He said Sweet Homes had also been set up in North Waziristan and Miran Ali and they will be further expanded.

He further informed that the foundation stone of two cadet colleges for the children of Sweet Homes will be laid in Karachi and Azad Kashmir during 2018 and a rest house will be built in Murree on land donated by Mehtab Khan for the Sweet Homes children.
