ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, on Friday, said that the Pakistani nation will decide about the next leader of the country in the 2018 general elections.
“The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s, government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif has steered the country out of the crisis and resolved the energy issue,” he said while talking to a private news channel.
“The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), had pushed the country into darkness during its previous tenure, he added.”
While criticizing the performance of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI), the minister said that PTI, could not produce even a single megawatt of electricity for Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK), during its tenure, despite its claims of solving the energy problems in the province.
He further added that the people, who are promoting the politics of sit-in, will not gain anything as the nation will itself decide the next leader of the country in the 2018 general elections.
Commenting on Khurshid Shah’s objection regarding Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia, he said that the former Prime Minister and leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N has good relations with the Saudi rulers.
“The Mian brothers have spent eight years in Saudi Arabia during the period of their exile and have good personal and business relationships with the Saudi royal family,” said Asif.
