KHUZDAR: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) President Sardar Akhtar Mengal on Thursday stated that the Baloch tribal leaders do not oppose development in the province, reported by a local English daily.

While speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Wadh campus of the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, he said that he was glad to notice that 40 girls of the area had been admitted to the Wadh campus.

He has reportedly donated 100 acres of land for the said campus.

The campus was inaugurated by Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal who also inaugurated the campus of the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University in Khuzdar.

Mengal further said that the Baloch leaders are only demanding basic needs (for people) but they’re instead declared anti-development and anti-education. He said that the government should give rights to all the communities living in Balochistan.

He said that the province has become a dump of explosives and advised the state to behave like an elder and should try to understand the demands of the Baloch leaders. He said that the only way to do that is that the state changes its behaviour towards the Baloch people.
