Economic- Strategic strengthening of KSA, Pakistan top most priority, envoy tells Durrani

ISLAMABAD: The economic and strategic strengthening of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are the topmost priority of the custodian of two holy mosques King Sulman, the Kingdom’s Pakistan Ambassador Admiral (R) Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki said here on Friday.

He said that to transform this vision into reality, KSA is all set to play a pivotal role in future.

“In view of Saudi leadership, the Saudi-Pak economic and strategic interests were intertwined and thus people of Pakistan would partner KSA in its quest for economic prosperity than to open up new job opportunities for people in general and to further Pak defense based strengths in particular,” the ambassador opined during an exchange of views with former information federal minister, Muhammad Ali Durrani, who had called on him at the Royal Embassy.

He said a new era of cooperation in multiple fields including economy and defense between the two brotherly countries would boost benefits set to yield through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which would, in turn, bring relations of all weathered, time-tested brothers to a new dimension.

A high-level delegation from KSA would land in Pakistan at the start of the new-year to mature the already reached understanding at the level of military and civil leadership on various initiatives to be taken in the future, he explained.

Viewing Saudi Arabia and Pakistan’s bonds based on mutual respect, religious affection and trust, Mr Malki said that King Sulman and Crown Prince Muhammad share a vision for Pakistan’s strong economy, defense and the prosperity of its people.

Muhammad Ali Durrani praised Crown Prince Muhammad’s 2030 initiative for Pakistan and its people while appreciating an active role being played by Ambassador Malki to kick-start a renewed effort in facilitating two countries to a closer multifaceted cooperation.

He expressed his confidence that 2018 would lead the relationship of both the countries to an exemplary partnership of mutual advantage, enabling the people of Pakistan to gain the most from it.
