Shehbaz Sharif meets Turkish PM in Medina

LAHORE: A brief meeting was held between Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Thursday outside Masjid-e-Nabwi in Madina.

The chief minister tweeted a picture with Yildrim, saying that the two met at the entrance of Masjid-e-Nabwi in Madina.

Both the leaders warmly shook hands and hugged each other. They also inquired about each other and expressed good wishes.

Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that he is happy to meet him at the most sacred place of Masjid-e-Nabvi.

“Pakistan and Turkey are brotherly Islamic countries, and the Muslim world has unanimously opposed the American decision on the issue of occupied Bait-ul-Muqaddas (Jerusalem),” he said.

The role of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has remained remarkable on this issue, he said.

He said that every Muslim has a strong spiritual attachment towards sacred places situated in Saudi Arabia.

Turkish prime minister said that he was happy over his meeting with Shehbaz Sharif.

Punjab CM is expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, among other senior Saudi officials, during his visit to the kingdom.

He had arrived in Madina after leaving Pakistan on Wednesday in a special plane sent by Riyadh.
