GARHI KHUDA BUX: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday rejected talks of any NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) in the future [with PML-N], saying the party won’t accept another compromise.

Addressed a rally in Gari Khuda Baksh on the tenth death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Zardari complained, “You have always backstabbed us, and this time we will not support you.”

The PPP staged a huge gathering to observe the 10th death anniversary of slain party chief Benazir Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bux Wednesday.

Addressing the erstwhile ally, he said, “Just like you have issues with us, we have had issues with you as well.”

Commenting on his refusal to make any deals with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, he said, “We spend 12 years in jail while you spend a few months and then get to sign an NRO and attain your freedom. This will not happen again. We reject NRO in the future.”

Recalling the slain premier and his wife, Benazir Bhutto, the former president said, “I have never seen anyone as brave as Benazir.”

BILAWAL WARNS OF CONSPIRACY WEAKENING INSTITUTIONS

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also addressed the rally, which was attended by thousands of party supporters and workers.

Addressing the party loyalists, he alleged that rulers of the country have debilitated democracy and the parliament, and conspiracies are at play to weaken state institutions.

“A conspiracy was being hatched to clip the wings of state institutions in order to weaken them.”

Recalling his mother’s political commitments, Bilawal said, “Benazir always spoke of provincial autonomy and women empowerment.”  The former premier, Benazir, struggled for democracy for 30 long years and campaigned against military dictators,” he recalled.

“Bibi Shaheed (martyred), we have not forgotten your promises,” Bilawal addressed slain Benazir, adding, “Our spirits are at unrest while remembering you on your tenth death anniversary. You were a symbol of life and hope.”

The bereaved son of the slain leader of PPP said that the people will remember today as the Day of Martyrdom because Benazir was a martyr who will live on as an example for people.

“You are still the strong bond between all of the four provinces,” Bilawal said, adding, “PPP will continue working for the judiciary’s freedom.”

‘MUSHARRAF IS THE MURDERER’

Earlier in the day, Bilawal told a British media outlet that he considered former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf the murderer of his mother. The PPP chief said that Pakistan’s schools, colleges and places of worship weren’t safe as terrorists could strike whenever they want.

He went on to say that his party struggled to revive the judiciary, but it didn’t receive justice in the case of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Taking a jibe at the deposed premier Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal said that those who accused other politicians of corruption were found involved in the biggest corruption, as revealed by the Panama Papers.

IT’S NOT ME, INVESTIGATE REHMAN MALIK:

Replying to Bilawal’s allegations of “murderer” of Benazir, former president Pervez Musharraf denied his involvement, saying Rehman Malik should be enquired for stopping the Benazir’s cavalcade.
