Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), in a statement issued on Wednesday, said that it is going to launch a campaign to review the list of voters on January 15, after which the total number of voters will reach approximately 104 million people.
Apart from that, during the door-to-door verification process, around 7.36 million new voters will be registered and the names of almost 9.23 million people, who have died, will be removed from the electoral list.
Last week, a meeting was held under the chair of the chief election commissioner to discuss the arrangements being made for the upcoming general elections.
In the meeting, the election commission sought maps and other necessary materials from the concerned authorities for the new constituencies.
