LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Wednesday stated that the meeting between its chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has been rescheduled for December 29.

A spokesperson for the PAT said the meeting was earlier scheduled to take place on December 28 (Thursday), but it has been delayed by one day owing to the PPP leader’s personal engagements.

According to reports, Asif Ali Zardari will attend the all-parties conference of Dr Tahir ul Qadri-led Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) as the PPP decided the same in its central executive committee meeting on December 26.

In the CEC meeting chaired by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Naudero House and attended by the former president, it was also decided that as only Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has the right to dissolve the assemblies, the party would never support any unconstitutional measure taken in that regard.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday pledged to support Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s quest for justice in the Model Town killings case, terming the incident an “issue [of seeking justice] for the entire country, not just PAT”.

Reiterating his support to the PAT chief Tahirul Qadri, in a joint presser, Imran Khan remarked, “I came here today with my team to reassure PAT and Qadri that our party and the people of Pakistan are with them. Whatever decision PAT takes, PTI will stand alongside it.”

Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal has also on Tuesday accepted Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri’s invitation to join the All Parties Conference (APC) that will be held in Lahore.
