LAHORE: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal has on Tuesday accepted Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri’s invitation to join the All Parties Conference (APC) that will be held in Lahore.

According to PSP spokesperson, Tahirul Qadri made a telephonic contact with Mustafa Kamal and congratulated him over the success of his rally that was held on December 24 at Karachi’s Liaquatabad Flyover.

The spokesman further added that PAT chief invited Kamal to join the APC that is scheduled to be held on December 30, and PSP head ensured Qadri of his presence.

However, Tahirul Qadri is struggling hard to bring the rest of the opposition leadership at one platform as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) are still undecided on whether to join hands or not for the cause.

PTI chairman Imran Khan didn’t give his consent to attend the APC, however, development over this issue is likely to come up in the meeting between the two leaders on Tuesday.

Similarly, the PPP is also undecided on sending its top leadership to the event aimed at demanding with one voice the justice for the Model Town incident.

When PPP co-chairperson Asif Zardari had visited Dr Qadri earlier this month, the latter had claimed that he (the PAT chief) could make arch rivals Zardari and Imran Khan sit by his side at a time of his choice.

Meanwhile, Dr Qadri has also telephoned Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Jamaat-i-Islami amir Sirajul Haq and invited them to the APC.

A PAT spokesperson claims that the two leaders accepted Dr Qadri’s invitation and promised to attend the event in person.
