ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) will organise screening of film Jinnah (1998) to pay tribute to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at its media centre on December 30.
Jinnah is a 1998 epic biographical film which followed the life of the great leader. It was directed by Jamil Dehlavi and written by Akbar S Ahmed and Jamil Dehlavi.
Talking to media persons, Lok Virsa Executive Director Dr Fauzia Saeed said the purpose of screening Jinnah was to educate the younger generation about the struggle of our forefathers to acquire a separate homeland.
“It is the only English movie made on the life, vision and contributions of Jinnah which we can show to our youth to educate them and point them in the right direction towards their goals,” she said.
The biographical film was in fact the story of a true Muslim who was accompanied by loyal people who decided that the Muslims of India needed a country of their own to ensure their survival.
The man responsible for creating Pakistan was Muhammad Ali Jinnah, known to Pakistanis as the Quaid i Azam, which means “the great leader.”
Being a brilliant man with great intellect, great determination and an iron will, Jinnah was determined that it would be beneficial for Muslims of the subcontinent to have their own country where they could all dwell in peace.
