200-foot-high Pakistani flag hoisted at Pak-India border

LAHORE: Pakistani flag was hoisted on a 200-foot-high tower at the Ganda Singh Wala border, which the country shares with its eastern neighbour India. The statement was issued on Monday by the Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR).

Multan Commander Corps Lieutenant General Abdullah Dogar hoisted the national flag at the border near Kasur city.

Punjab Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Azhar Naveed Hayat Khan was also present on this occasion.

Earlier this year, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, hoisted the biggest Pakistani flag at the Wagah border (Lahore) on August 14. The tower on which the flag was hoisted is said to be 400 feet tall- the largest in South Asia.

The 141st birth anniversary of the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was celebrated across the country with traditional zeal and enthusiasm earlier in the day.

The day, a public holiday, started with a 21-gun salute in the capital cities of Pakistani provinces, with the national flag hoisted at principal government buildings.
