Victims of Indus Highway accident identified

HYDERABAD: The police and district administration of Jamshoro have completed the process of identifying the deceased who lost their lives in an accident between a passenger van and a coach on the Indus Highway early Sunday morning.

According to Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner Captain (r) Fariddudin Mustafa, four women, three girls, two boys and a man were among the deceased.

The deceased women were identified as Sarah, Kamil, Saima and Reshma, while children were identified as Iqra, Ajwa, Khushbu, Ahmed and Jameel. The man, namely Jamshed Shaikh, was also identified along with the others.

Fariddudin said that the victims belonged to a Shaikh family of Larkana which was travelling in the van from Larkana.

The injured, who were later shifted to hospitals in Sehwan and Sann, were travelling in the coach, he added. He also said that the accident happened due to overspeeding.
