LAHORE: As many as 3,000 police personnel will perform security duty at worship places of Christians on Christmas Day to be celebrated on Monday, December 25.
City Police Officer (CPO) Athar Ismail said that 327 Christmas programmes will be held in the district.
He said that 18 Superintendent Police (SP) and Deputy Superintendent Police(DSP), 124 Sub Inspector (SI), 393 Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) 249 Head Constables and more than 3000 constables have been tasked to perform security duty in and outside the churches across the district.
He said that 10 teams of elite force will also remain active to ensure a thorough patrolling especially in all sensitive areas of the district, besides deputing sufficient police force at all entry and exit points to keep an eye on the suspects and avert any untoward incident.
