MIRANSHAH: Three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred in a landmine blast near Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Sunday.

According to details, the FC men were on routine patrol in Ghulam Khan area near Pak-Afghan border in NWA, when the landmine planted by militants by roadside exploded.

Three FC men were martyred in the blast and their bodies were shifted to hospital for postmortem.

The martyred soldiers have been identified as Naik Inayatullah Khattak, Sepoy Mohsin Ali Turi and Sepoy Sifat Ullah.

After the blast, a heavy contingent of law enforcing agencies reached the site and cordoned off the area. The LEAs conducted operations in different parts of the area.

On Friday, three FC troops were martyred in cross-border firing from terrorists on the Pak-Afghan border while five terrorists were also killed.

The FC personnel were busy constructing a new border post when the attack took place in the Shunkrai area of Mohmand agency.

At least five terrorists were killed by retaliatory fire from Pakistani forces and another 11 were injured, added ISPR.

The Army’s media wing further said that Pakistan is paying the cost for lack of capacity in the Afghan armed forces and ungoverned spaces on the Afghan side of the border.
