APS students visit National Book Foundation

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of students and teachers of Army Public School (APS) visited the National Book Foundation (NBF) and were briefed about educational activities undertaken by the foundation.

The students and teachers visited different sections of NBF, including National Book Museum, Hafiz Shirazi Corner, Nizami Gujvi Corner, Qimoos Corner, Summer Book Club, National Book Park, Wall of Honour and Readers Book Club.

The delegation was told that NBF had become an educational and cultural centre for students across the country.

The delegation was further told that NBF was promoting reading habit among the youth and it also encouraged the overall book industry, helped increase literacy rate and created reasonable demand for good books.

The delegation was also told that the foundation was playing an instrumental role in reviving book reading culture among the younger generation, adding that Readers Book Club was one of the most public oriented book promotional activity that attracted readers to buy books of their choice at half the price.

Moreover, the delegation was informed that the foundation was working to provide books on discounted rates to readers at its book outlets. The delegation thanked the NBF officials for arranging their visit and appreciated their services for creating a knowledge based society.
