Two injured as train derails in Bhakhar

BHAKHAR: At least two people were injured when a train derailed after hitting a trolley crossing the railway track in Shah Alam area of Bhakhar district late Friday night.

According to rescue sources, the engine of Rawalpindi-bound Mehr Express derailed after hitting the trolley, suspending railway traffic on tracks.

As a result, two people, including the driver and assistant driver of the train, sustained injuries and were moved to a nearby medical facility for medical attention.

After being informed of the incident, the rescue teams immediately arrived at the site of the crash and began an operation to shift the injured to hospital.

Railway officials said the operation to clear the tracks was underway.
