Seven drug peddlers among 16 criminals nabbed in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi police on Saturday arrested 16 criminals, including seven drug peddlers, from different parts of the city on Saturday.

According to a police source, different police teams carried out raids in Sharifabad, Liaquatabad, Surjani town, Pirabad and apprehended six street criminals, Riaz-ur-Rehman, Noman, Abdul Wahab, Saeed, Ejaz and Tahir.

The police claimed to have recovered six TT pistols with rounds and drugs from their possession. They have started a further investigation into the cases.

During the crackdown on drugs peddlers, various police teams conducted search operations in Sher Shah, Pakistan Bazar, Jackson and Zaman town, and nabbed seven drug peddlers, Salman, Raza Khan, Babar, Adnan, Habib-ur-Rehman, Aziz and a wine-seller, Javed Khan. They also claimed to have recovered wine and other drugs from their possession.

A Madina Colony police arrested accused house owner, Muhammad Adnan, and two tenants, Muhammad Zahid and Shahrukh Butt.

Police have registered FIRs against detainees and started further investigation.
