Kot Momin rally: Nawaz asks party MPAs to ensure effective power show

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday reportedly instructed the party leadership to prepare for a rally in Kot Momin, Sargodha, and issued directives to the local body representatives as well as the members of provincial assembly (MPA) to ensure a successful public display of power.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief, Nawaz Sharif, is to address a political rally on December 31 in Kot Momin tehsil.

In a meeting with senior members of the party in Lahore, the former premier discussed political scenario of Pakistan among other matters of importance.

In a comment on his ouster, he said that he wanted to let the people know the motive behind his disqualification from the post of the premiership.

Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the Supreme Court on July 28 in a corruption case pertaining to Panama Papers.

Recently, following a high-level huddle at Jati Umra residence, Nawaz had announced that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is going to be party’s candidate for the premiership after the general elections.

The top seat of the province of Punjab will be given to Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, in case the party wins a majority in its bastion, Punjab, according to media reports.
