At a recent event, Khan said that she plans to work less next year and will be taking a short break. While this is disappointing for her fans, we hope that she achieves what she is set out to.
2017 has been an interesting year for the starlet. She made her Bollywood debut opposite King Khan in the film Raees which was a box-office success and the star managed to steal hearts across the border despite opposition from Hindu nationalists. She was then embroiled in a controversy with Ranbir Kapoor when pictures of her surfaced in which was seen wearing a short, white dress and smoking with the Bollywood actor. The pictures not only sparked rumours that the two were involved in a relationship but also had the morality brigade point bash Khan for her choices and decisions.
However, on the flip side, Khan was announced the brand ambassador for Loreal Pakistan which immediately put her in the league of Bollywood divas like Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor.
That’s not all. Mahira also starred in Shoaib Mansoor’s Verna which depicted the powerful story of a rape survivor. While the film failed at the box-office, it made headlines when the censor board created issues in its release citing questionable and adult content. However, the film was released on schedule.
Mahira also recently won an accolade at the Masala! UAE Awards held in Dubai this month. There is really no stopping her.
Here’s to wishing the actress all the best for her upcoming year.
