ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Interior Ministry to submit the Hamid Mir commission report till February 7 before it.

Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani heard the case filed by a TV Anchor Arshad Sharif seeking court’s directives to make public the report regarding the attack on senior journalist Hamid Mir.

The counsel for the petitioner, Barrister Shoaib Razzaq contended that after the incident, allegations were leveled against the head of a state institution through a local TV channel.

He requested the court to direct the Interior Ministry to make public the commission report.

During the hearing, the bench expressed displeasure over the failure of the official of the Interior Ministry to submit the report despite the court’s order.

The bench again directed the ministry to submit the report till February 7 and adjourned the hearing of the case.
