The 10th International Urdu Conference started Thursday at Arts Council, Karachi.
A large number of writers, poets and critics of Urdu from various countries participated in the conference. They included Mubeen Mirza, Shamim Hanfi, Kishore Naheed, Iftikhar Arif, Raza Ali Abidi, Pirzada Qasim, Zahra Nigah and others.
Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Sardar Shah was the chief guest on the first-day. Speaking on the occasion, Shah praised the organisers and said due to their efforts senior writers, poets and critics were present in this conference. He said Urdu language has no any danger because it was rich with writers and creators. He said we have rich culture and peaceful Indus civilization which was the land of Sufis and peaceful people. Shamim Hanfi said such kind of conferences would promote the literature and culture.
