LAHORE: Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan attended the closing ceremony of the 11th Annual IEEE ICOSST 2017 that took place at the main auditorium of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET).
The three-day conference was a colorful mega event where industrial exhibition was conducted and world universities’ delegation attended and delivered presentations on the theme of ‘Open AI’.
It was a joint collaboration of Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) UET and Computer Society Lahore Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Pakistan’s leading industries such as Nestle, Unilever Pakistan, Aptech, Autosoft, and others placed their stalls at the exhibition, which were liked by the guests and the masses who showed interest in their products.
Research papers from more than 40 countries were presented at the conference, whereas, a delegation of 12 countries also attended this mega annual conference.
Addressing the participants, Rana Iqbal said, “Technology is the need of the hour. The world has progressed in such a manner that now the machines are doing most of the work for humans. It clearly reflects human behavior.”
He further said that, “Open AI is a modern technology that was promoted by the likes of Google, Facebook and other technological giants. Smart phones’ applications are working on this technology as well.”
The speaker further added that the education revolution was the mission of the present government, therefore they were striving hard to get this mission accomplished through innovative projects.
The ceremony started with welcome notes delivered by UET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid and UET KICS Director Professor Dr Waqar Mahmood.
