Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ 2nd on Bill Gates’ inspiration list for 2017

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar– the real and reel Khiladi actor– on late Tuesday got heaps of praises from philanthropist and business mogul Bill Gates for his movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha according to a news outlet.

Bill Gates took to his Twitter account to put together a series of inspirational stories and tweets that happened in 2017. He wrote, “There’s no denying that 2017 was a really tough year… but it also delivered some amazing moments of hope and progress. Here are some inspiring tweets that you may have missed…”

Talking about the film, Bill Gates said it has educated audiences about India’s sanitation challenge. “Toilet: A Love Story,” a Bollywood romance about a newlywed couple, educated audiences about India’s sanitation challenge,” he wrote.

The seven tweets that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates shared included various events from across the world. It included a story about a young man who became the first ever graduate in his family to the rising popularity of ‘extreme reading’ among students. But what made Akshay Kumar fans proud was that Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was placed second on Bill Gates’ list.

Released last year, the Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer deals with the problem of open defecation in India. The movie is based on a real-life incident wherein a woman left her husband after finding out that there was no toilet in the house. The film was widely appreciated by the fans for highlighting the sanitation problems that the country is facing and became Akshay Kumar’s eighth Rs100 crore grosser of 2017.
