Rain lashes interior Sindh

KARACHI: Rain lashed different areas of interior Sindh on Tuesday, bringing mercury levels down and affecting social and business life. The rain began at night and continued till daytime.

The rain hit Gambat Taluka, Sukkur, Ghotki, Guddu, Hingorja, Mirpur Mathelo, Lakhi Ghulam Shah, Shahdadpur and other areas.

The downpour and cold badly affected social and business activities in these areas. Low-lying areas were inundated and the people were compelled to stay indoors and wear warm clothes.

However, people enjoyed fast foods at restaurants and hotels, while the consumption of tea also remained high.

Pakistan Meteorological Department during the last 24 hours recorded 14mm rain in Larkana, 10mm in Moenjodaro, 05 mm in Padidan, 3 mm in Jacobabad, and 1 mm in Shaheed Benazirbad and Sukkur.

It further said more rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Larkana and Sukkur.

These areas also faced power shortages as the villages experienced over 16 hours of load shedding.
