Karachi administration reviews Christmas arrangements

KARACHI: Karachi Commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the security arrangements for Christmas celebrations.

He directed security personnel to ensure foolproof security arrangements and take extra security measures in churches on the eve of Christmas.

The meeting was also attended by Additional Commissioner Karachi Farhan Ghani Khan, DIG traffic, all zones DIGs of police, all Deputy Commissioners, officials of KMC, director local government Farooq Saddiqi, and relevant officers.

The meeting also decided that foolproof security arrangements and measures for the provision of civic facilities, including streetlights, cleanliness, etc around churches would be made. The meeting also stressed that load shedding should be avoided in all churches during Christmas.

On the occasion, Christian communities representatives gave suggestions to resolve their issues regarding security and traffic problems. Karachi Commissioner directed authorities to resolve the Christian communities’ issues and ensure corporation to resolve their problems on time.
