Two separate protests were held against each other at outside of Badin Press Club on Monday.
Reportedly, elected independent councilors of Badin Municipal Committee including Hanif Sehrat, Shahid Khan Afridi, Imran Soomro and others while staging the protest alleged that on the tips of Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) the chief sanitary inspector has threatened the councilors over the cell phone for the lost of their lives if they continue complaining against the cleanliness situation and provision of the clean drinking water to the citizens.
They alleged the municipal officials were drawing the salaries of the ghost employees of the municipal committee adding that CMO and his team used to threaten all those citizens who complained against the cleanliness and demanded clean drinking.
They demanded an immediate inquiry against the involved officials of municipal committee and assure the supply of clean drinking water and resolve other issues of city on the priority otherwise a protest and shutter down strike would be called on against such municipal officials.
On the other hand, several employees of municipal committee Badin led by chief sanitary inspector also staged protest outside the press club and alleged that Hanif Sehrat, nominated councilor by independent panel supported by Mirza group has threatened the employees of municipal committee and demanded extortion.
On the occasion, chief sanitary inspector denied threats posed to councilors and termed it as a conspiracy against him and other employees.
