Army chief’s visit to parliament a positive sign: Siraj-ul-Haq

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq, talking to the media after the Senate session on Tuesday, said that army chief’s visit to the parliament is a positive sign and the democratic system must prevail.

Siraj-ul-Haq criticized the factions ridiculing the judiciary. He said that no good can be expected from people who want the judiciary to serve their personal interests.

He urged the Supreme Court to continue with the accountability process without being intimidated by the corrupt as the whole nation stood behind the judiciary.

“The judiciary should hold strict accountability of all the corrupt plundering the public money and also take suitable steps for retrieving the national wealth lying abroad which can help solve the problems of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and disease,” said Siraj-ul-Haq.

The JI chief said that the conspiracies of the Unites States-India-Israel troika against the country could be foiled only through national unity.

“National security and defence require that a patriotic and ideological political leadership come to power and deal with Indian and the US leadership on equal terms, added Siraj-ul-Haq. He remarked that the leaders trembling under the US fear and seeking IMF dictation were responsible for most of the problems in the country.

“JI seeks the cooperation of the nation in the next election through its votes, for steering the country out of the present situation,” he concluded.
