KARACHI: The employees of Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh have not been given salaries from the last three months, causing serious inconvenience to them and their families.

Twelve employees of the programme from grade-12 to grade-17 have not received salaries, while 45 other from grade-02 to grade-11 are also facing a similar situation.

The social mobilizers, field workers, entomologists, drivers and other staff are facing financial crises as they are unable to feed their families, pay the education of their children and meet other expenses.

PCPD Programme Manager, Dr Abdul Rasheed Sheikh, said a formal request has already been sent to finance department for release of the budget to pay the salaries to technical and field staff.

He said salaries of employees would be deposited in accounts of employees soon. All pending salaries of staff would also be paid after the release of a grant from concerned department, he assured.
