A recent road-rage related rift between the Pakistan Tehrik Insaaf (PTI) and the family of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has been resolved amicably, and both parties have decided to drop the matter.

Earlier, there had been much confusion when the PTI had alleged that Ali Musa Gilani, son of former PM Gilani, and his armed guards had shot at the jeep of PTI leader Faisal Javaid while he was making his way back from the party’s rally in Okara in a vehicular procession.

Gilani had retorted by saying that there had been no firing and there was a minor collision between his car and that of Faisal Javed, for which he had registered a complaint with the local police.
The matter had taken a drastically political turn, as it was wont to, with the Pakistan People’s Party leadership backing Gilani and claiming that Faisal Javed had intentionally attacked the former PM’s son. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari along with other PPP leaders such as Shahbaz Taseer also pitched in.
It’s not Imran khan, it’s musa that was attacked by PTI and has regestered a criminal case https://t.co/tNg4nExhaA

The PTI too took a particularly strong line, declaring the incident a ‘terrorist attack,’ stating in their official press release “Gillani, through his armed guards, orchestrated an attack on the convoy of Imran Khan.”
Now, the PTI has decided to drop all charges regarding the incident, which they had earlier declared a ‘terror attack’ after the two parties discussed the matter at length and came to the conclusion that it was a misunderstanding.
The sentiment was expressed in a tweet by the PTI’s spokesperson, Fawad Chaudry, and reciprocated by Musa Gilani in a statement through his brother Kasim Gilani.
“I have talked to Musa Gilani n Faisal Javaid It was a minor incident, which has now been resolved amicably, both parties will not pursue it any further” said Chaudry in his tweet.
Musa Gillani also released a statement which read “Pti leadership has called and we have cleared the misunderstanding. I will not be Pursuing with application submitted to the police the matter has been resolved amicably. PPP will continue its struggle for a tolerant and peaceful Pakistan!”
