Rain likely in lower parts of country with snow over hills

ISLAMABAD: Cold and dry weather will prevail over most part of the country on Tuesday; however, scattered places in Sindh, Balochistan and south Punjab are likely to experience rainfall, with snowfall in mountainous regions, Met Office told APP.

A shallow trough of westerly wave is present along western and southwestern parts of the country, the Met office stated.

In the last 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country; however, an isolated rain-thunderstorm occurred in Karachi, including some areas of Sukkur and Jacobabad.

Rainfall recorded during this time span was: Karachi, (Sadar 13mm, Landhi 11mm, Nazimabad, North Karachi 10mm, Faisal base 09mm, Jinnah Terminal 08mm, Karachi airport 07mm, Gulastan-e-Johar 04mm); Lasbella 04mm; Padiden 02mm.

Minimum temperatures recorded were: Malamjabba -07, Astore -05, Kalam, Parachinar, Gupis -04.  Islamabad 02, Lahore 05, Karachi 14, Peshawar 04, Quetta -01, Gilgit -03, Chitral -03, Muzaffarabad 02, Murree 00, Skardu -03, Faisalabad 05, Multan 06, Hyderbad 14, Dir -03.
