PTI, Musa Gillani agree to let Sheikhupura ‘firing incident’ go

After a brief episode of altercation and allegations following an alleged firing incident, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Monday said that he had talked with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Musa Gilani and PTI’s Faisal Javaid, and the issue has been resolved.

In a tweet, Fawad further said that both parties will not pursue the matter further.

On Sunday, the PTI had accused Gillani’s guards of opening fire on a vehicle which was part of Imran Khan’s convoy.

“Gillani, through his armed guards, orchestrated an attack on the convoy of Imran Khan,” said the PTI in an official statement. All individuals remained unharmed in the attack as the vehicle was bulletproof, the PTI had said.

However, former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani’s son, Musa, had rejected the allegation, saying, “How can I open fire on a convoy travelling with police protocol?”

In his counter-accusation against the PTI, Ali said that a vehicle from Khan’s motorcade hit his car.

On the issue, the regional police officer (RPO) Sheikhupura said the police would thoroughly investigate the matter and take action against whoever was found responsible.

Imran Khan’s convoy was coming from Okara at the time of the incident.
