Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s convoy on Saturday met with an accident allegedly near Lahore with Ali Musa Gilani’s convoy.

The son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani alleged that a vehicle, which was part of a motorcade, banged into his car, a private news channel reported. Upon inquiry, he added, police informed him that it was the motorcade of PTI chief Imran Khan.

“Soon after it happened, I launched a complaint about the incident, and police told me that the convoy of Imran Khan had passed from there,” Gillani said.

PTI, on the other hand, alleged that Gillani’s guards opened fire on a vehicle which was part of the convoy. The party issued a statement, saying, “Gillani, through his armed guards, orchestrated an attack on the convoy of Imran Khan.”

The party further said that all individuals remained unharmed in the attack as the vehicle, which was fired upon, was bulletproof.

Ali Gilani, however, categorically denied the allegation, saying: “How can I open fire on a convoy travelling with police protocol?”

As per reports, the motorcade of PTI chief was coming from Okara and met with the accident when it was near Lahore.

Okara is at a distance of about 50 kilometres from Pattoki, where Ali Musa said his vehicle was hit.
