PTI, Ali Gillani resolve convoy attack issue amiably

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Ali Musa Gillani at the behest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary have amiably solved the issue of convoy attack and have decided to retract their applications for the registration of FIRs (First Information Report).

According to latest reports, Fawad Chaudhary acted as an intermediary between Ali Musa Gillani and Faisal Javed (whose vehicle allegedly came under attack) and resolved the issue. Both parties have decided to finish the matter and not pursue a legal course for reparations.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) alleged that Ali Musa Gillani had fired on the convoy of Imran Khan while on the way to Lahore from Okara after a public meeting.

Ali Musa Gillani, son of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Yousuf Raza Gillani refuted the allegations levelled against him by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on late Sunday night.

Holding a press conference, Musa said the allegations were baseless, claiming his car was hit first by one of the vehicles in the motorcade.

“I had no idea whose motorcade it was,” he said.

Throwing light on the incident, he said five speeding vehicles overtook his car near Pattoki and the last vehicle hit his car.

“Soon after the incident, the motorist and my guards exchanged harsh words but no bullet was fired by our end,” he asserted. He said he also launched a complaint at police helpline about the incident. “I come to know about Imran Khan’s convoy from police personnel,” he added.
