KARACHI: Manghopir police claimed to have foiled a bid to smuggle 25,000 litres of Iranian diesel on Northern Bypass area of the city on Monday morning.
According to reports, police started checking dumper-trucks coming from Balochistan after they received a tip-off about the smuggling of huge quantities of Iranian diesel.
During checking, 25,000 litres of Iranian diesel was seized from a dumper-truck. The diesel was concealed into the specially designed hidden cavities of the truck. Driver Gohar Kahan was arrested from the spot.
The police shifted him to the police station for further investigation.
