Kidnapped newborn recovered with help of security system at services hospital

LAHORE: Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Minister, Khawaja Salman Rafique and Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah have congratulated the administration of Services Hospital and police officers on the recovery of the newly born baby of Mrs Nighat Nadeem who was kidnapped from the hospital on December 8.

The minister also appreciated the efforts of the Services Institute of Medical Sciences Principal Professor Mehmood Ayaz, MS Dr Muhammad Amir, DIG Operations Dr Ashraf Haider and DSP Ichra for their efforts for the recovery of the infant.

Secretary Health Najam Ahmed Shah said that there is a dire and urgent need for strengthening the security system of hospitals. He said that the doctors and other staff should display their badges for identification and the security staff should also keep a vigilant eye on the people coming to the health facilities.

He further said that patients and their attendants should also be careful while interacting with unknown people in the hospitals to ensure complete elimination of such incidents. He was of the view that the recovery of the baby is a success of the security system placed in the hospital.

He said that if the CCTV cameras and electronic car parking system were not active, the identification of the culprits and the rickshaw they used could not have been traced. He also appreciated the efforts and congratulated the joint team of the hospital administration and police officers for their successful efforts.
