Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao Saturday rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for early polls in Pakistan, saying the PTI’s demand was both “untimely” and “illogical”.
He said this while inaugurating Sui gas project at Kot Tarnab district of Charadda.
He said that the call for early elections would deprive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) of three National Assembly seats as an amendment in this connection could not be made on time. Those who favoured early elections in the country wanted to slash KPs representation in the National Assembly.
Commenting on PTI leader Jehangir Tareen’s disqualification from public office after the Supreme Court order, Sherpao said that one should celebrate disqualification of corrupt politicians in the country.
