LAHORE: A ceremony was held at Government Maqbool-e-Aam High School in GOR-I, Lahore to pay homage to the martyrs of Peshawar Army Public School (APS) on Saturday.
Schools Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik was the chief guest of the ceremony which was also attended by headmaster Ghulam Mustafa and other officials of the Schools Education Department. During the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the Peshawar APS martyrs.
In his address, Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik paid rich tributes to the parents and family members of APS martyrs and said that education was the biggest weapon to eradicate ignorance, fanaticism and terrorism from the country. He added that the process of education promotion was going in full swing across the province under “Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab Programme” of the Punjab government.
He said that the government was working hard to achieve the target of hundred per cent enrolment.
Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik also inaugurated early childhood education (ECE) classroom and library in the school. The library contains 17,000 digital books along with 3,000 printed copies. He also gave his personal books and computers to the library for utilisation by the students.
The secretary and his wife also distributed gifts among the students.
