Kyrgyzstan and Russia exchanged views on the prospects for trade and economic cooperation, vowing to implement joint investment projects and intensify cooperation, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.

“We are interested in increasing the volume of supplies of products from Kyrgyzstan to the regions of Russia,” said President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov on Friday while welcoming the Russian delegation led by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich to the Sixth Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference in Bishkek.

Russia’s deputy prime minister also met with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sapar Isakov.

“Deepening cooperation with the Russian Federation is a priority in the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan,” Isakov said, expressing gratitude to the Russian side for the support provided to Kyrgyzstan.

Dvorkovich, for his part, stressed Russia’s readiness to deepen cooperation, including in the trade and economic areas.
