LONDON: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif met ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London today, according to media reports.
The leaders discussed Pakistan’s current political and economic situation, among other important national issues in the meeting.
Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Safdar, along with other family members also attended the meeting.
Speaking to the media before heading into the meeting, Asif reiterated that there is no threat to the government and that the government will complete its said tenure.
Earlier, the PML-N leaders reached London after a one-day visit to Turkey for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) emergency summit on Trump’s decision on Jerusalem.
The PML-N leaders also called on former prime minister Shaukat Aziz at his residence in London to offer their condolences on his son’s death.
Reportedly, Nawaz and former finance minister Ishaq Dar also met at the London residence of Nawaz’s son, Hasan Nawaz, where they discussed the present condition of the country.
