Sindh government imposes section 144 for 180 days

KARACHI: The government of Sindh, in the exercise of powers conferred under Section 144 (6) Cr. PC has imposed a complete ban on throwing and dumping of all kinds of hazardous material like solid waste, industrial waste and any other solid and liquid waste material in the Rice Canal for a period of 90 days with immediate effect.

According to another notification, the government of Sindh has imposed a complete ban on the display of arms, guards wearing civil clothes except the personnel of law enforcement agencies, security guards wearing uniforms having resemblance with vehicles of police and other law enforcement agencies, private vehicles with mounted police lights, private vehicles with tinted glasses, un-authorized blue lights, fancy number plates and private vehicles having police sirens and hooters throughout the province of Sindh for one hundred and eighty days with immediate effect.

Furthermore, a ban has also been imposed on protests, demonstrations, rallies and assemblies of more than five people in sensitive areas and places declared as the red zone for a period of 180 days with immediate effect.

The SHOs of concerned police stations are authorized to register complaints under Section 188 PPC in writing for the violation of Section 144 Cr. PC.
