KARACHI: Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM) leader Babar Khan Ghauri said on Wednesday that he did not leave the MQM under the pressure of establishment or any political party but out of his own free will.

In a TV interview he said: “This is my personal decision and I have not taken this decision due to any pressure from establishment or agency,” adding “not in contact with any party neither am I joining any party.” The former port and shipping minister announced his disassociation from the party on Sunday.

Ghauri has served as the federal minister for ports and shipping, as well as a lawmaker in the provincial and national assemblies and the Senate.
