Security forces have foiled a ‘major terror’ bid in Pashtun-dominated Zhob area of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in press release on Wednesday.

“Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan averted major terrorism attempt through successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Zhob, it said in a statement.

The statement said, “Six IEDs planted on the N-50 national highway near Zhob were traced and neutralised.”

In a separate incident, FC troops apprehended an illegal arms dealer in the Sui area. Explosives, detonators, weapons and ammunition were recovered from his possession.

Following attacks, law enforcement agencies have stepped up raids in the violence-stricken province. Operations are also routinely conducted under the umbrella of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
