KARACHI: Firefighters managed to put out a fire that erupted on Monday evening at a warehouse located on Karachi’s Super Highway after almost sixteen hours.

Eight fire trucks were engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire that erupted sixteen hours ago.

According to latest reports, eighty per cent of the blaze has been contained.

Firefighters were constantly faced with difficulties to douse the fire due to a persistent water shortage, sources told media outlets.

According to the owner of the warehouse Abdul Malik, the fire department responded two hours after it was informed of the incident.

“And when the fire trucks finally reached, water was unavailable,” added Malik.

He added that a part of the warehouse was destroyed, resulting in a loss of Rs70 million.

A two-storey building, the living quarters of employees, was gutted in the incident.
