Sindh govt declines to make JIT findings on Baldia incident, Uzair Baloch public

KARACHI: Sindh government on Tuesday refused to make public the findings of the joint investigation teams’ (JIT) reports about the Baldia factory fire, Uzair Baloch and other cases.

The Sindh government categorically refused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi’s petition with the Sindh High Court seeking the publication of JIT’s findings on important cases such as those relating to the Baldia fire incident, Uzair Baloch, Dr Asim, May 12 Karachi violence and the Ashura bomb blast from a few years ago.

The advocate general said that the cases demanded by Ali Zaidi to be made public were being heard in different courts and the publication of their respective investigations would affect the cases and amount to contempt of court.

“This petition, which has been submitted for cheap publicity, should be dismissed,” argued the advocate general.

The court adjourned the hearing till December 12.
