ISLAMABAD: Assistant Minister of International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wang Yajun has reassured that his country will always stand by Pakistan on the issue of its national security while pursuing its economic well-being.

He said that China, Pakistan friendship is ‘stronger than iron,’ and the two countries will work together for their common development while addressing a select-gathering. The recently held 19th National Congress of the CPC further boosted the countries’ ever-green friendship, he further said.

Highlighting the achievements and the future targets of the 19th Congress, he said that their greatest target is to transform China under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, who got re-elected as general secretary of the party.

On its successful conclusion of the Congress’s historical session, the Chinese leadership received congratulatory messages from 170 countries, hoping that China emerges as a cultural-advanced democratic country in years to come.

China managed to bring millions of its people out of poverty while improving the living conditions of its people and increasing life expectancy in general— one of the most significant accomplishments of the country during the last five years.

Referring to a work report that was earlier presented before the Congress, Yajun said that the report contained the full account of China’s progress during the last five years in different sectors.

Wang Yajun further said that Pakistan will have a special place in the new diplomacy that China plans to pursue in the next five years.

“Since the 18th CPC National Congress, China has made remarkable achievements in its reforms, opening up and modernisation drive,” he said, adding that the 19th Congress also successfully decided a future course of action for achieving broad-based economic goals and for poverty alleviation.

The Congress, he said decided that China would continue to hold the banner of peace, development and cooperation. In its foreign policy, China will uphold principles of justice and sincerity, honesty, affinity and good faith,” he said.

Wang Yajun assured that no matter how prosperous China gets, it will never ignore the interests of other nations.
