Punjab CM holds meeting to review law and order, progress on safe city project

LAHORE: A high-level meeting was held at Qurban Lines in the head office of the Punjab Safe City Authority under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Monday.

The meeting reviewed the general situation of law and order in the province and the progress made on Safe City Project in detail.

During the meeting, the chief minister directed that every step should be taken to protect the life and property of the people and no stone should be left unturned to further improve the general law and order situation in Punjab. The police should work efficiently to stamp out the criminals and supremacy of law and order should be ensured at every cost in the province.

He further stated that Safe City Project has been launched to protect the life and property of the people and this project is equipped with the latest technology which is very helpful in curbing the crimes. He added that the project will be inaugurated soon and its completion will give further impetus to the sense of protection of the citizens.

Shehbaz Sharif further stated that third-party audit will also be carried out to ensure a high standard of the project. He directed that allied works of this project should be completed as soon as possible.

The Chef Minister was told that 95 per cent work on the project had been completed in Lahore.

Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Col (retd) Ayub Gadhi, Punjab government Spokesman Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, chief secretary, additional chief secretary (Home), inspector general of police and officials concerned attended the meeting.
