PTI chief rules out his disqualification

Imran Khan said on Monday that he cannot be disqualified since there is no case of money laundering or corruption against him.

Speaking in a TV programme, Imran Khan claimed that he would end his politics and step down from the party position if any court declared him ineligible. “I will leave politics if the moral authority is lost,” he added, stressing the significance of moral power in politics.

He gave the example of ex-PM of the United Kingdom David Cameron who resigned because of no moral authority. Imran Khan said that he will work for the people if given power, rather than building own factories.

“If my purpose was just to come into power then I would have had an alliance with Zardari and Fazlur Rehman. Corruption is the biggest problem in Pakistan. I have been struggling against corruption for the past 21 years. How is such an alliance possible?”

The PTI head told that the Model Town tragedy was not alone an issue for Tahirul Qadri, but for the whole nation. He called the massacre one of the biggest acts of terrorism, adding that no law in the world allowed such a barbaric attack.

Imran Khan told that Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif should be held accountable for the loss of innocent lives. “Nothing happens without the orders of Shehbaz Sharif,” he said.
