LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Hamza Shahbaz has said that holding of general elections on time is vital for the future of Pakistan.
Speaking at the laptop Distribution Ceremony at Aiwan-e-Iqbal which was the 4th phase of the Rs. 7 billion scheme, Hamza Shahbaz stated that the development of the country is more important than the power and policies and democracy should continue at any cost so that sustainable development could be ensured.
Hamza Shahbaz said that achievements in the field of education in Punjab are remarkable and that leadership is not based upon making claims only.
He said that the people of Pakistan are well aware to decide their next mandate in 2018 that which party enjoys their majority. He said that those who were criticising Metro Bus in Punjab are now trying to copy the same project in the last year of the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking about the developmental projects in the province, Hamza Shahbaz claimed that it was only in Punjab that electricity projects such as Sahiwal Coal Project, Bhikki, Haveli Bahadur Shah and Bahawalpur Solar Projects have been completed. Similarly, 500 Danish School students and around 1,15,500 students would be receiving laptops in the 4th phase of the distribution.
He further stated that 17 billion rupees were being distributed as scholarship through Punjab Endowment Fund for 2,35,000 students which would be increased to 3,50,000 students with the addition of Rs. 6 billion.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, Lahore PML- N Information Secretary Imran Ali Goraya, teachers and students also attended the ceremony.
