Fawad Chaudhry predicts government’s downfall before next year

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry here on Sunday has said that the present-day situation illustrates that the government will not be able to make it to the next year.

In regard to the demand for the resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Fawad echoed his parties wholehearted support for Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri.

He upheld his parties position concerning the elections saying: “The census bill will be presented for approval in the Senate, however; it does not matter whether the members passed it or not as the article 224 of the constitution is quite clear in allowing elections in 90 days”.

“In case the government ends, there is a constitutional requirement for holding new elections. Unless and until the results of the census are not released, they do not hold any constitutional status. Therefore; article 224 and 51 are not in variance with each other,” said the PTI spokesperson.
